Denis is in Britain. He is happy. Now he has a lot of nice photos. He is in the center of London looking for souvenirs. He goes from one shop to another thinking about what presents to choose for his family and friends.

Let’s listen to him and hear what he’s choosing.

It’s hard to choose. There are so many good presents in the shops! Of course, I must buy some magnets. It’s not a problem to bring them home, they don’t take up much space. Bright magnets with a picture of the city or its places of interest, they can decorate a white fridge door. How much are they? One pound? That’s really a good price. I must buy five magnets.

This teddy bear is so nice! Do you know Winnie-the –Pooh or Paddington Bear? Stuffed toys are popular in the UK. I can buy a teddy bear for my little cousin. It’s 4 pounds. OK.

Oh, this red umbrella is a nice present for my mum! The colour red is so good for grey rainy days in autumn! Besides, she has red shoes. Yes, I will buy it!

Wow! Such a nice thermos flask! That could be useful for my grandfather. He often goes fishing and likes to take some coffee with him. He can keep his coffee warm all day long! He will certainly like that present!

I could also buy a toy soldier for my brother. There’s one, a Queen’s guard. He is wearing a traditional uniform — red and black. My brother will jump with joy!

Now, what about my father? I think, he will like this tartan scarf and a mug. He knows so much about the UK! This tartan scarf is a part of history. He will feel like Sherlock Holmes drinking tea in his scarf!

I will buy this bell for my granny. She’ll like the sound of it and she can call grandfather in for lunch with it!

My aunt will like this key ring. She often has many things in her handbag, the key ring will help her find her keys easily.

What can I buy for myself? Oh, I like this white T-shirt.

It will remind me about my visit to the UK and I can buy this nice badge!

I am happy to have so many souvenirs now!

Shop assistant: Good morning. How can I help you?

Denis: Hello. I want to buy some souvenirs.

Shop assistant: How many?

Customer: I’d like 5 magnets, 1 teddy bear, 1 umbrella, a thermos flask, a toy soldier, 1 scarf, a bell, a mug, a t-shirt and a pin. That’s thirteen items.

Shop assistant: That’s 30 pounds please.

Customer: Thirty pounds for 13 items. Great! Here you are. Thank you.

Shop assistant: You are welcome. Bye!

Числительные от 20 до 100.

Целые десятки от 20 до 100 образуются при помощи суффикса –ty:

Пример: 6+ty=sixty

20 – twenty

30 – thirty

40 – forty

50 – fifty

60 – sixty

70 – seventy

80 – eighty

90 – ninety

100 – a hundred

Это правило не распространяется на слово 100.

Обратите внимание, что некоторые числительные меняют правописание в корне слова:

20 – twenty

30 – thirty

40 – forty

50 – fifty

Правописание этих числительных нужно запомнить!
