If you sail to Liberty and Ellis Islands in New York City harbor, you definitely see the Statue of Liberty – one of the most symbolic monuments to freedom in the world and the historical gateway to America. Between 1892 and 1954 millions of would-be immigrants passed through the immigration station on Ellis Island in search of democracy, freedom and opportunity.They had to meet strong health and legal requirement before they were allowed to begin a new life in their new homeland. The Statue of Liberty depicts a woman in a loose-fitting robe. She holds a torch, representing liberty, in her right hand. She holds a tablet reading “July 4th, 1776”-the date of the declaration of American Independence — in her left hand. She wears a crown with seven rays, representing the seven continents and seas of the world. If you visit a museum inside “Lady Liberty”, you can see a life-size replica of the statue’s face and foot. Emma Lazarus, an American poet, represented the statue’s message for immigrants with the following words: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…I lift my lamp beside the golden door. ”

4.Устанавливаете зависимость прочих членов предложения от каждой грамматической основы.
5. Если вы поняли, что имеете дело с придаточным предложением, то находите связку – наречие или союзное слово – и устанавливаете, какой тип придаточного предложения перед вами: относительное, причины, следствия или результата.
