Hello, my dear friends! I`m glad to see you. Today we have an unusual lesson. We are going to visit one of the brightest and the most colourful places in the world. It is the Kingdom of Rainbow.

When we have only one object, we should ask: » What colour is it?» and the answer to this question will be «It is…..» But if we have more than one object, we should ask: «What colour are they?» and the answer will be «They are….»
This is the rule. And you must use it correctly.

Colour и Color в английском.
Это популярный пример национального различия в английском. Оба этих слова обозначают одно и тоже:
colour [‘kʌlə]- британское написание во всех англоговорящих странах.
color [‘kʌlə]- американское написание.
На русский язык оба этих слова переводятся словом «цвет», плюс они имеют дополнительные лексические значения, которые совпадают для обоих вариантов произношения.
Как видно из транскрипции слов, оба слова читаются одинаково, несмотря на различное написание самого слова. Поэтому в разговорной речи различий между ними нет, а вот на письме отличия есть.
