ТЕОРЕТИЧЕСКИЙ МАТЕРИАЛ ДЛЯ САМОСТОЯТЕЛЬНОГО ИЗУЧЕНИЯ
A lot of people in Britain live in detached or semi-detached properties. They are brick houses in various styles. Some of them were built in Victorian times between 1837 and 1901. The exteriors are like works of art. There are steep slate roofs, stained glass panels in doors and windows, iron railings and tall chimney pots. They also have basements and attics. Most terraced houses were built in the uninhabited areas during the Industrial Revolution in the mid-18th century for people who came from distant places to work. The houses were joined together to save space. Each row of houses have only two rooms downstairs and two rooms upstairs. Huge block of flats were mostly built during the 1950th and 1960th . Unfortunately they are associated with high crime rate because of the districts where they are situated. Some of them are council houses in the area of council housing estates. In the suburbs or villages where there is a lot of greenery bungalows are set. They have only one floor and a veranda so you can sit there and admire the landscape. Retired or elderly people are often their residents.

1. We noticed some smoke from the chimney pots and were happy to see the village.
2. Children’s old toys are kept in the attic.
3. My brother dreams of setting the chemical lab in the basement.

1.Задание проверяет знание порядка слов как в простом, так и в сложном предложении.
2.Внимательно читаете все слова в цепочке
3. Находите грамматическую основу как главного, так и придаточного предложения
4.Устанавливаете зависимость прочих членов предложения от каждой грамматической основы.
5. Если вы поняли, что имеете дело с придаточным предложением, то находите связку – наречие или союзное слово – и устанавливаете, какой тип придаточного предложения перед вами: относительное, причины, следствия или результата.
6. Соединяете все члены сложного предложения
7. Внимательно читаете полученное предложения ещё раз, помня о порядке слов и обращая особое внимание на употребление артиклей, местоимений разных групп, предлогов и союзов.
ЗАДАНИЕ 3 : Выбор элемента из выпадающего списка
Текст задания: Choose the right answer:
1. All the houses in the area were the properties/basement of the city council.
2. The roofs were like art works with their tall attics/chimney pots.
3. The area was distant/uninhabited after a disaster.
4. She lived in the distant/ uninhabited town so she had to drive for 2 hours to get to work.
