Being famous means fans, fame and magazine covers with your face on them. That’s not always true. Sometimes, we know the characters or creations but not their creator. Today we are going to get acquainted with someone whose work every child knows. We watch them on TV, we see them on our clothes, accessories and other belongings. Who was the talented person whose work has accompanied us in our childhood and youth? Let’s learn with our old friends, Tom and Ann.

Today is Sunday, Tom and Ann, are happy to have the day off. They have a lot of free time, and have decided to go for a walk in an amusement park.

Tom and Ann walk through the gates of the park. In the park, they were met by their favourite cartoon characters: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck

— Ann: What a huge park! This is the largest amusement park in the world.

— Tom: It is! There are so many cartoon characters! I wonder who invented them all?

— Ann: Children, let’s go and ask Mickey Mouse?

— Tom: Hi, Mickey! You do not know who created this park?

— Mickey: Hi guys! Of course, I know, it was the same person who thought of a cartoon about me! He was a talented and famous person who lived in the 20th century. Walt Disney — he came up with the first cartoon and created his own Disney Studio. That’s why this park is called Disneyland, there’s a statue of Walt Disney in the centre of the park, let’s go and see it.

— Ann: Great, there are so many interesting things; I want to take a walk in the park. Mickey, will you show us the park and tell us about it?

— Mickey: Of course!

For a successful journey with our heroes, let’s get acquainted with some new words that will be useful to us in this lesson.

Tom and Ann had a great time at Disneyland. Together with Mickey Mouse, they rode rollercoasters then swung on the swings and at the end watched interesting performances by popular cartoons. They had a lot of fun thanks to the outstanding person who cared about children and made childhood so interesting for so many children.
