ТЕОРЕТИЧЕСКИЙ МАТЕРИАЛ

All people in the UK love Christmas which is in winter, on 25th December. There are Christmas trees both in the houses and outside. All families have Christmas dinner. It’s traditionally a turkey, a pudding and mince pies. People also have Christmas parties. Children often make a lot of noise at the parties. They play and dance. There’s an old Christmas tradition in the UK. It’s singing Christmas songs or Christmas carols. Children also like funny Christmas nursery rhymes.

Little Robin Redbreast
Sat upon a tree,
I wish you a merry Christmas
It’s a greeting from me.

With apples to eat,
Nuts to crack,
I wish you a merry Christmas
With a big rat-a-tat.

People bring a lot of presents and wish each other ‘Merry Christmas!’ There is a lot of snow outside, so children make a snowman. Children make a wish at Christmas and they wait presents from Santa Claus. Christmas is a magic time when you can make a wish and have a good time together with you family!

There is another great holiday in the UK, too. It’s Mother’s Day! People celebrate it in spring. Children write cards with warm words and give them to their dear mothers.

Mothers always smile when they get cards from their beloved children. Children also give flowers and sweets. They write poems about their mothers.

My dear mum,

You’re like the sun.

Your face is shining bright.

If you’re next to me,

Everything is always right!

Write a poem for your mother. It will make your mother happy.

В задании предлагется выбрать поздравительные фразы. Чтобы выполнить задание, прочитайте все фразы, найдите те, в которых есть слова Happy или Merry + название праздника – традиционные конструкции для поздравлений.

РАЗБОР РЕШЕНИЯ ТРЕНИРОВОЧНОГО ЗАДАНИЯ 9

Task 9. Help Ben to complete the card. Fill in the missing words.

В задании предлагается помочь Бену дописать поздравительную открытку для его мамы. Вариантов слов нет.

Чтобы выполнить задание, нужно прочитать ту часть открытки, которая дана. Предложение, где есть первый пропуск, заканчивается словом too, пропущен глагол, значит должен повториться смысловой глагол с предыдущего предложения. Это слово love.

Чтобы заполнить второй пропуск, нужно вспомнить устойчивую фразу для поздравлений в День Матери – Happy Mother’s Day! В задании не хватает первого слова в этом устойчивом соловосочетании, значит нужно поставить слово Happy (с заглавной буквы!).

Третий пропуск – это имя того, кто пишет открытку. Это нужно понять исходя из структуры открытки. Из текста задания мы знаем, что пишет это мальчик по имени Ben. Это слово и нужно вписать.
