Do you enjoy going to the cinema? Since the invention of the cinematography by the Lumiere brothers the cinema has become one of the most popular types of entertainment. To talk about cinema we need some words.

Sometimes the person or people who make some action are not important for the speaker. Although, the action itself is very important. In this case, we can use the structure which is called the Passive Voice. 

To form a sentence in the Passive Voice we need two things. The first is the appropriate form of the verb «to be» followed by the past participle form of the main verb. This way
to form Present Simple Passive we need to use am/is/are and the past participle form of the main verb. For example: 
Present Simple Active: I wash my car every week.
Present Simple Passive: The car is washed by me every day. 

• The same pattern is used to form sentences in other tenses. 
  Present Continuous Active: I am washing my can now. 
  Present Continuous Passive: My car is being washed now.
  Present Perfect Active: I have recently washed my car.
  Present Perfect Passive: My car has recently been washed by me.
  Past Simple Active: I washed my car 2 days ago.
  Past Simple Passive: My car was washed 2 days ago by me.
  Past Continuous Active: I was washing my car yesterday at 2 p.m.
  Past Continuous Passive: My car was being washed by me yesterday at 2 p.m. 
  Past Perfect Active: I had washed my car before I went to the airport yesterday.
  Past Perfect Passive: My car had been washed by me before I went to the airport yesterday.
  Future Simple Active: I will wash my car tomorrow.
  Future Simple Passive: My car will be washed by me tomorrow.
  Future Perfect Active: I will have washed my car by Friday evening. 
  Future Perfect Passive: My car will have been washed by me by Friday evening.
• Sometimes we need to use a sentence with a modal verb in the Passive Voice. In this case we should add the verb «be», followed by the past participle form of the main verb after the modal verb.
• For example:
  Active: I can do it.
  Passive: It can be done by me. 
• There are some verbs that change their meaning depending on the preposition that follows them. We call such verbs phrasal verbs. Today we’ll talk about the verb turn. 
  turn down — убавлять громкость, отказывать(ся),

  turn on — включать, переключать, 
  turn over — переключать (каналы), переворачивать.
