Boys and girls introduce themselves. They can use the following phrases:
Excuse me…
What is your name?
How do you spell it?
How old are you?
Let`s go…
Let’s listen to Ann and Paco. They use these phrases in their conversation.
Paco: Excuse me…Where is the Math class?
Maya: It`s in room C. Let`s go…
Paco: Thank you. What is your name?
Maya: I`m Maya.
Paco: Hello, Maya, I`m Paco.
— Hello, Paco. How do you spell it?
Paco: It`s P-A-C-O.
Maya: Ok, how old are you?
Paco: I`m ten. And you?
Maya: I`m ten too.
How old are you?
Numbers can help you to answer the question.

Look! Numbers 13-19 are formed with the help of suffix –TEEN
4 + teen = fourteen
6 + teen = sixteen
7 + teen = seventeen
8 + teen = eighteen
9 + teen = nineteen
Be attentive in writing!

3 + teen = thirteen
5 + teen = fifteen
In 13 and 15 the pronunciation and writing are different.
You should stress the second syllable in numbers
13-19 after nouns.

You should lay stress on the first syllable of the numbers that are before nouns with first stressed syllable

The suffix is –TY
Pay attention to the verb to be in the sentences. This is Paul. He is fourteen.
This is Mary. She is seventeen.
These are John and Barbara. They are eleven. This is me. I am thirteen.
With singular pronouns he, she, it use is.
With plural pronouns we, you, they use are. Use I with am.
Now we know a lot about numbers and can answer the question “How old are you?”. Then let’s practice new words together!
